And just like that the chanichim have arrived and camp is full! And our madricim were more than ready to greet each and every chanich. Shavuah Hachana (orientation week) was certainly an exciting time for our tzevet as they prepped for what will be an amazing summer! Our madrichim gathered from all over the globe- from the UK, Israel and all over the USA. They participated in many sessions giving them hands on experience on how to lead peulot, deal with homesickness, and become familiar with the different developmental levels of our chanichim.
We are so proud that every American madrich has grown up in Yavneh, and they can’t wait to pass down their love for camp, Israel and Judaism to the next generation of Yavneh leaders. We are also so happy to welcome this year’s mishlachat (the Israeli delegation) who will engage the chanichim, teach them about Israel, and infuse Hebrew into our daily life.
This year’s orientation included a Shabbat with our oldest aydot– Naaleh and Kerem joined us and the ruach was contagious. We can’t wait to celebrate our first Shabbat together as a kehila!
