Arayot at the Beach!

Author - Camp Yavneh

Shalom Parents,

On Monday we started the week of right with a July 4th celebration. We entered the חדר אוכל (dining hall) to a breakfast of waffles, blueberries, and strawberries.  In the afternoon we  danced and sang to karaoke songs, watched famous sports reels, and did line dances. We ended the day with an amazing all camp talent show. Our very own talented Noah B. and Adam W. performed a song together with Noah on the drums and Adam on the violin. Afterwards, we watched Shrek and snacked on popcorn.

On Tuesday, wPhoto Jul 05%2C 2 07 29 PMe had our אחלה יום (trip day) and traveled to Wallis Sands Beach. Although the weather was foggy when we got there, it soon became sunny and the cold ocean water was nice and refreshing. We ate lunch on the beach, played games in the sand, played Bananagrams, then, to cap off our day, headed over to the ice cream store to buy everyone ice cream.

That night, for our peulat erev (night activity), we had an Arayot coffeehouse. We had performances ranging from a lip-synced dance to Drake’s Hotline Bling, by Owen Siege and Adam Chern, a sung mash up by Keren Kubersky, Kyra Siegel, and Rebecca Altholz, and a sing along with Rabbi Isaiah to his rendition of Modeh Ani (a prayer).

On Wednesday, after Debbie Day, July 4th, and אחלה יום, we finally had a routine day of camp. The afternoon peulot (activities) were filled with practice for Ketzev (Arayot’s dance and song performance) which is coming up next week! We can’t wait!

B’ahava,

Josh and Tara
