Tickled pink for Ma’alot

Author - Camp Yavneh

Well, well, well, if it isn’t our arch-nemeses, the parents of aydat Ma’alot [the name of our unit, Ma’alot meaning ascendance] here to foil my plot again to have camp start early! Luckily we planned for this and moved opening day to Wednesday! Soon we will make the whole world have the best kayitz of their lives! The chanichim [campers] will be ours for the summer at last and there’s nothing you can do to stop us! Ha ha! Ha ha ha ha haaa haaaa!!!

Jeremy-Tibbetts
We are pleased as punch and tickled pink (respectively) to be roshei aydah [unit heads] for aydat Ma’alot this coming kayitz [summer]! This is our FIFTH summer with these chanichim and we love them as much as Paula Abdul loved winning the Grammy for Best Music Video – Short Form for “Opposites Attract.” Rest assured that the zaniness will be twice as intense as last year, the meaning and love will be twice as strong, and we will eat glidah [ice cream] aTalia-Schwartzt certain points as well so don’t even worry! The tzevet (staff) has been here since last week learning the ins and outs of how to make this kayitz the safest, funnest, meaningfulest kayitz of the ever! Trainings, pegishot (meetings), and more have us totally mitragshim (excited/STOKED TO THE MAX) about seeing everyone so soon!

We have a lot to look forward to this kayitz. Every day Ma’alot has our own peulah [activity] where we get to develop as manhigim [leaders] and have an amazing time! We also get to plan a mini Maccabiah (color war) for lower camp during first month! We will of course be back to our usual schedule full of sports, kitah (class), schiyah (swim), yimei achlah (literally ‘awesome days,’ our trip days), and more! As the chanichim grow more and more each year, we cannot wait to help nurture them, to feed their stomachs and their souls, and to be the magnifying glasses to their brilliant lights this coming kayitz. Make sure to check this blog (blog) to get the scoop on what the kinderlach (Yiddish for children) are up to this summer! We can’t wait to see you and your kinderlach this coming Wednesday for opening day!!!!

B’ahava (Jeremy) Tibbetts and Talia,
