Shalom Kfirim Blog Readers!
What an action packed week we had! As mentioned in the previous blog, we went to water country with the rest of the camp last Tuesday. Chanichim (campers) walked around the park and went on the water slides, lazy river, wave pool, tube slides and more! It was a fun filled day and every single chanich had a smile on his or her face the whole time! We came back to camp for our Achla Yom barbeque and had our Peulot Erev (evening activities) separated by bunk. The banim (boys) had a 2 vs. 2 basketball tournament. They wore matching team outfits, and they cheered their friends on as they watched them play. The banot (girls) had Erev Paint Bar where they each got their own canvas and paint and then replicated, each with a unique and individualized spin, a painting of the Agam (lake) done by one of the madrichot (counselors). They really let their creativity shine with all of their stylistic choices, and it was a calm environment to listen to music, paint, and relax after a busy and tiring day.
For the afternoon peulot (activities), we had a week of Sadnaot (workshops) and they have also been learning and practicing their dances for Rikudiyah on Wednesday night. Rikudiyah is a dance festival and every bunk or aydah in camp will perform a dance. For Kfirim, our dance has both the boys and girls in it, and some parts are all together while other parts are split by boys and girls.
Thursday night was KTV (Kerem TV)! This entertaining evening consisted of funny videos created by Kerem and lip-synching performances by each tzrif (bunk). Our banim did the cup song from pitch perfect and the banot did a mashup of boy and girl band songs. Although we didn’t win, the chanichim definitely enjoyed themselves!
On Sunday night, we played Kadur Kfirim which is a combination of capture the flag and dodgeball, and then we had a campfire and sang and made s’mores!
On Monday, we loved having the Kolbo lady here to get Yavneh swag!! After having an early dinner, all of Gurim, Gefen, and Kfirim went to the University of New Hampshire outdoor pool for a fun night swim! The chanichim had a blast, and it was a great way to kick off our Achla Yom for today, which is Kerem Karnival in camp!
We can’t wait for another exciting week ahead!!
