Dearest readers,
Our adventures in Gurim continue with the kEreM KaRnivAL!!!
Early Tuesday morning at mifkad (flag-raising at the flagpole in the morning) the Kerem (CITs) announced that they would be hosting a carnival for the two youngest aydot (units) at camp. They were wearing the silliest of costumes and dancing around in between the lines of chanichim (campers). After breakfast, we all came down ready with water bottles and bathing suits to begin the day.
The carnival was PRETTY AMAZING. There were slip n’ slides and dunk tanks and blow up obstacle courses. There were snacks and cotton candy and trampolines and to top it all off, free swim!!
At dinner, we relaxed by Ezor Shigaon (our special area with swings and games) and ate yummy BBQ hot dogs, hamburgers, and corn on the cob. After dinner, we finished our Kochav Nolad talent show which we had started on Monday night. Each bunk prepared an act and in between we had over 35 different acts from the aydah (age group) which ranged from juggling, to gymnastics, to drumming.
Wednesday was another special day due to the POURING RAIN that we experienced basically from the time we woke up until bedtime. We did not let the wet and the cold bring us down, instead we ate warm soup at lunch time and spent extra time together playing indoors. During the afternoon, we popped popcorn and for a very rare and special treat, watched movies while the rain continued outside. The rest of the camp watches a movie together outside on the night of July 4th and since we don’t stay up that late, Wednesday afternoon was the perfect afternoon to get our own personal movie screening!
After shower time and dinner (shepherd’s pie!!!) we had a special evening activity all about BALLOONS!!! Needless to say, we had a blast! Balloons are a big hit around here.
That’s all for now, talk to you soon!
Love, Micah and Aliza, Roshei Aydot (Heads of Unit)
