COVID-19 Updates

Will there be camp this summer?

As of today, we are operating on the assumption that we are going to be able to have camp this summer and are working with many other Jewish camping and national camping organizations to do everything in our power to welcome chanichim (campers) into Yavneh in June. We are hoping to have a better understanding of the current situation over the next 14-21 days and will communicate with you via email approximately every two – four weeks, depending on whether we have camp updates.

Will there be a screening upon arrival to camp?

We are continuing to monitor the situation regarding COVID-19 and are working with local officials and experts to ensure that Yavneh has a communicable disease plan in place that addresses the impact of COVID-19 and other health issues. Our COVID-19 task force is working on revising our communicable disease plan and will include camper and staff screening and other precautions to be implemented during the summer to help ensure the health and safety of everyone at Yavneh.

What if my camper gets sick at camp?

This question will be addressed in our updated communicable disease plan that we will share with the community as information becomes available.

What camp policies are changing in response to COVID-19?

There will be modifications made to the way we “do camp” this summer. As you know the situation is fluid and we ask for your patience and understanding while we work through the daily changing landscape.

Will Na’aleh start later?

As of today, we have not changed the start date for Na’aleh – June 21st with a flight to Israel on June 23rd. We have heard from several participants that school is scheduled to end past June 23rd and we are looking into all options. Due to the high influx of calls to the airlines at this time, El Al is only dealing with immediate travel needs, so any potential changes will be announced closer to summer.

What is the refund policy?

As of today, we are still using our current refund policy. If and when that changes, we will update our website. The following is Yavneh’s refund policy:

  • Until December 1 – Full refund
  • December 2 to January 1 – Full refund minus $125 administrative fee
  • January 2 to February 29 – Full refund minus $800 non refundable deposit
  • March 1 to May 14 – 50% of tuition will be refunded
  • May 15 and after – No refund

All withdrawal notifications must be in writing to Bil Zarch, Camp Director
