Kfirim Enjoying the Last Week of 1st Month

Author - Camp Yavneh

Shalom l’kulam! (Hello to everyone!)

Today is the big day-ZIMRIYAH TASHA’A (Zimriyah 2015)! Zimriyah is a singing competition involving all of the aydot (units) in camp. Each aydah gets to perform 3 songs in 3 different styles- all of them in Ivrit! Aydat Kfirim has been working hard and put a lot of effort into tonight! Everybody is very excited to perform and have fun.Photo Jul 09, 9 01 20 PM

This week is also the last week of first month-we will miss all of our chanichim (campers) who are leaving and we hope to see them again soon!

Aside from Zimriyah practice, we’ve done a lot of fun stuff:

Monday was an interesting and fun day-the morim (teachers) gave us a peulah (activity) where we learned about the theme of the summer-“kol Israel arevim ze b’ze”-all of Israel is responsible for one another. We divided up to groups and made some small chesed (acts of loving kindness) projects for the camp, such as crossword puzzles for the chanichim go to the Marp (infirmary).

Tuesday was a chill day; we had some relaxed afternoon peulot, went to the agam (lake) and played some sports. Photo Jul 12, 4 06 33 PMIn the evening, we got to watch the Kerem play-Aladdin! Kerem is the oldest aydah in camp, and each summer they get to produce and perform a different play for the whole camp to watch! We laughed, we cried and had a great time!

Wednesday was the last day of practice before the big night! We spent some of it practicing and finalizing our songs. Another part of the day was “Yom Giborey-al-Super Hero Day!” Each tzrif (bunk) picked one madrich (counselor) to dress up, picked some super powers for him or her, and made up a background story. After a short introduction of each one, we had a battle between all the giborim, from which Ezra-Bot, B5’s gibor, was the winner!

At noon, we left camp to watch a long-awaited movie- Minions! We had a blast! We finished the day with an awesome game of 4-way capture the flag, planned by our madrichim, and a bonfire with s’mores and songs.

This morning we recorded all of our Zimriyah songs. The chanichim sound amazing and we can’t wait for you to hear them! Camp will be live streaming the show on the website. Come check us out!

Have a great weekend and Shabbat Shalom!
