Kayitz 19 – Kerem Second Session Second Blog Post

Author - Camp Yavneh

Hi, friends!

Kerem had a great time at Water Country last week! Slip and sliding down the waterslides, it was truly and Achla Yom (Awesome day). When we got back from the trip, Kerem ran peulot erev (evening activities) for the younger aydot. There was Harry Potter capture the flag, Civil War dodgeball, a dance bracket, and a real life game of Risk. It was really cool to see them working with the younger campers and learning how to run peulot.

Thursday and Friday we began planning for KTV, which is coming up this Wednesday night. KTV is a lip singing competition run by Kerem, and Kerem makes several videos, skits, and various funny side acts to spice up the night. It’s a lot of planning and work but it’s all worth it for the best night of the summer!

Shabbat was peaceful. I got several compliments about how enthusiastic Kerem was during Kabbalat Shabbat on Friday night, which was led by Kerem’s own Gavri Lapin!

Sunday was Yavneh’s 75th anniversary celebration, followed by a super fun color run in celebration of Davida Amkraut, Rosh Banot. It was pretty cute and we got to play in the sprinklers afterward! That night, we had some deep meaningful conversations in small groups. It was a nice opportunity for everyone to get to know each other a little bit better.

On Tuesday we’re headed to Boston to tour some sights and visit a retirement home. But Kerem is actively gearing up for KTV and Rikudiyah, both later this week. Can’t wait for those!

B’ahavah,

Ravi
