Hello, parents!
Sunday morning we returned from our free weekend well-rested and ready for some more educational tourism! After reuniting, we headed to a mall in Tel Aviv for some shopping and lunch and then to the Neve Tzedek museum where we learned about the origins of Tel Aviv. We completed our day with a scenic bike ride along the beach.
Monday we started our day at the Palmach house and then met Zippy Porath and got a firsthand account of what it was like to be a member of the Haganah and to fight for the establishment of the state of Israel. In the afternoon we traveled to Machon Ayalon and after dinner we heard from Justin Cammy, a Yavneh parent who is a Middle Eastern Studies professor at Smith College. It was super rad!
Today we went to Nahalat Binyamin, bought some nifty crafts and then traveled back to the Hostel to speak to Michael Oren. We are having a great and enlightening experience and are looking forward to the rest of our Israel experience!
Peace and love,
