Shuli Weinstein, Kerem ‘16, has been attending Yavneh for the last nine years and hopes to return in Kayitz ‘18 as a camp counselor. We recently had a chance to talk with Shuli and ask her about her connection with Yavneh, “My favorite thing about Yavneh is the opportunity to learn new things through my camp friends’ stories. Over the years at Yavneh, I have made friends from all over the US and Israel. It is amazing hearing and learning about their communities back at home. The friendships at Yavneh are unlike any other friendships I have made throughout my childhood.”
This last summer she spent six weeks in Israel on Yavneh’s program, Na’aleh. In her recent article for Fresh Ink for Teens, Shuli writes about her trip to Israel and some of the adventures she had while she was there. When asked about the highlight of her trip in Israel, Shuli replied, “the highlight of my Na’aleh trip was definitely the Negev experience! Our aydah bonded so much in the Negev and there was nothing more beautiful than waking up to beautiful desert sunrises and falling asleep under the bright, starry sky. The long, beautiful hikes were also quite rewarding throughout this experience.”
