We welcome back brother and sister of the Strosberg family who are re-joining our staff after many years away. Check out their favorite memories of camp
Rabbi Saul Strosberg – Joining the teaching staff for ‘17
I would have to say, marrying my wife (Daniella Pressner who will also be on staff this summer) at camp takes the cake…but I have countless other wonderful memories…taking the snake path Friday nights with Gurim, playing Relish and Havdallah with the Yavneh band, hanging out with amazing counselors, and having fun with all of the campers…
Ruthie Simon – Rosh Meltzarim/Dining room manager for ‘17
In my first year in Gurim, I had many opportunities to perform. I recall co-leading (swinging my arms and everything) a zimriyah song with Ari Disraeli. Ann (Glass) Lapin and I acted in The Wizard of Oz in hebrew; I sang in the choir, which was led by Cantor Aaron Marcus. Most exhilarating, however, was the camp wide lip-sync contest, in which I mouthed the words to Whitney Houston’s “I believe the children are our future.”
