Dear readers, old and new:
The first day of second session was magnificent. The חניכים (campers) moved into their צריפים(bunks), unpacked, and settled in nicely. One חניך close to the situation said he “feels very comfortable at מחנה יבנה.”
After a nice dinner of pizza, Caesar salad, broccoli, roasted carrots, and ginger bread cookies, the חניכים moved to the volleyball courts for “beach game” night, the פעולת ערב (evening activity).
They learned each
other’s names and played some team building games. Plus, other fun games like crab walk relay races and “Pictionary” in the sand. At night, everyone got some much needed זמן פנס (flashlight time) to read a book or listen to music before bed. Today, the חניכים will choose their morning חוגים (electives). This might be nature and survival, tennis, boating, archery, robotics, and many more. Another חניכה said, “I love חוגים because there are so many choices!”
