Kerem, Maccabia, and Rikudiyah!

Hello everyone!

First of all….MACCABIAH!! Yep, you heard me correctly, after spending much of our free time planning, Maccabiah is finally here. Breakout was Wednesday night after Rikudiah (we’ll get to that in a second), and let’s just say the roshei ayda (unit heads) had a ball….and a fight over Deflategate (the Tom Brady-deflated-football-thing). Anyways, our team names are achva (brotherhood/sisterhood) and reut (friendship), which play perfectly into this summer’s theme, kol Yisrael arevim ze b’ze (All of Israel is responsible for one another). Of course, I don’t know if achva should even try, because reut is going to win…

Enough about Maccabiah, as I’m assuming that’s all you guys are going to hear about for a while. Wednesday was also Rikudiah, a camp-wide dance competition. Each ayda does a separate dance; needless to say, it was loads of fun. Yesterday, we went for a trip to York Beach and we all had a blast freezing our butts off in the 65 degree water and soaking up some sun.
