Application Details

How do I apply?
Starting Thursday, September 30, 2021 go to the Yavneh CampInTouch login page. After logging in, click on the 2022 season in the drop-down box when prompted.

Please note that all applications will require a non-refundable $800 deposit per camper via either credit card or eCheck. This deposit is not actually charged until the office processes the application and your child is accepted, beginning in early October.

Who can apply beginning on September 30, 2021?
All families may apply now. We will process applications from returning campers first, then siblings. Our next priority will be children of alumni, then new family applications. Notifications of acceptance will go out in the order we process applications, beginning in early October. New families can expect to hear by early November.

Please note: once you complete the application, you should immediately receive an automated confirmation email that your application has been received. If you don’t get the email, this means we didn’t get your application. Be sure to complete all parts of the application until the final “Submit.” (Please be sure to check your spam folder.)

Please note that returning campers will have top priority registration only for the session they were registered for in 2021. Your child’s spot for the same session that they attended in 2021 will be held until Monday, October 25, 2021, at which time we will take new campers.

Can my child request to switch sessions?
If you wish to switch your child’s session, please submit your application as soon as possible. Requests for campers to switch sessions or extend to the full summer will be accommodated only after all applications are processed. In most cases, we will not know until late October/early November if we can accommodate your request. Enrollment capacity last summer was full, and we expect there will be only limited opportunities for switching and/or extending sessions, and may be more likely in the younger aydot.

Can my child request to extend from a single session to both sessions?
If you wish to extend your child’s session to full summer, please submit your application as soon as possible. In your application, please select “Full” for the 2022 season. Your child will initially be accepted to the same session as 2021; notification of acceptance for full summer enrollment will be made by early November.

If my child will be in Kerem, can we apply now?
Kerem applicants will receive a separate letter explaining the process and inviting them to apply. The application will be live for them on September 30, 2021 to be completed by a parent. Please note: Kerem is capped based on the size of the bunks and enrollment is strictly first-come, first-served. We will not accept any Kerem applications after Oct. 25, 2021.

If my child will be in Na’aleh, can we apply now?

Yes. Please apply as soon as possible.

I know someone new who wants to send their child to Yavneh in 2022. When do they apply for camp?
New families may submit an application immediately as well. Their applications will be held in a separate queue and we will inform them in November if we can accept new campers.

What if I know my child will not be returning to camp for the 2022 season?
If you know now that your child is not able to attend camp next summer, please let us know so that we can accommodate as many new campers as possible. Please email Bil directly.

I’m just not sure yet about next summer.  What should I do?
We understand that some families may not feel comfortable submitting an application just yet. As the year progresses, please reach out to us about our capacity and/or the waitlist.

Financial Details

Are there any discounts available?

If you pay all of your camp tuition + Kolbo fee before Dec. 31, 2021, you will receive a discount of $215 (one session) or $325 (full season). This discount does not apply to Kaytana or Na’aleh.

How will we pay for camp?

All applications require a non-refundable deposit of $800 per camper. There are several options available to pay the balance. You will choose one when completing the application:

  • Pay in Full: the entire camp fee will be charged upon enrollment. The discount listed above will reduce your payment if paid by Dec. 31, 2021.
  • Early Payment Discount: after the initial deposit, 50% of the balance will be charged on Nov. 15 and again on Dec. 22.
  • Three Installments: after the initial deposit, the balance will be charged in three equal installments on Dec. 1, Feb. 1 and Apr 1.
  • Five Installments: after the initial deposit, the balance will be charged in five equal monthly installments from Dec. 1 to Apr 1.
  • Financial Aid: see below.

How can I protect my tuition?

Program Protector Plans are available to U.S. residents from the United States Fire Insurance Company during the registration process. The plans may protect up to the full cost of camp if you withdraw your child from camp. Benefits include Program Cancellation and Interruption, Travel Delay, Medical Expense, Baggage, Baggage Delay and more. An Enhanced Plan (not available in New York) is also available to provide Cancel For Any Reason coverage for cancellations until two days before camp. We strongly recommend that families purchase one of these policies. Please see this link for more information. The fee is paid directly to the insurance agent, Trip Mate, Inc., upon enrollment.

For families outside of the U.S., see this link for policy information.

What if we need tuition assistance?

Financial Aid for 2022 will follow the same process as last year: completing an application online through FACTS with submission of the required tax documents. The link will be sent in November to those who request to pay by Financial Aid in the camper application. The due date will be February 7, 2022, with a decision sent within about two weeks. We cannot guarantee tuition assistance to current families after the February deadline.

After paying the initial deposit upon enrollment, families will be expected to pay 10% of the tuition balance each month, November 1 through February 1 (four payments). Once camperships are announced, the adjusted balance will be charged in three equal installments from March 1 – May 1. If the campership is insufficient, we will mutually agree to cancel enrollment, and payments other than the $800 deposit will be refunded. We remain committed to enabling as many campers as possible to attend camp, with parents making a meaningful contribution to tuition.

Local Jewish Federations, Jewish Family Services, synagogues and rabbis (through their discretionary funds) are excellent resources for camper scholarships as well. Additional resources may be available for first-time campers once accepted to camp. Please be in touch with your home institutions to find out how to qualify. Time is of the essence.

Refund Policy

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may necessitate you to withdraw your child from camp. All withdrawal notifications must be made in writing to Tammy Schneider, Registrar. The following is Yavneh’s refund policy:

  • Until Dec. 31, 2021: Full refund minus the non-refundable deposit of $800 per camper .
  • Jan. 1 to Feb. 28, 2022: 75% refund of the remainder of balance, excluding the $800 non-refundable deposit per camper.
  • Mar. 1 to May 13, 2022: 50% refund of the remainder of balance, excluding the $800 non-refundable deposit per camper.
  • From May 14: No refund available .

Session Reduction Fee

Families that reduce enrollment after acceptance will incur a fee as follows:

  • Until Dec. 31, 2021: no fee
  • Jan. 1 to Feb. 28, 2022: $300 fee
  • Mar. 1 to May 13, 2022: $500 fee
  • From May 14, 2022: $1,000 fee
  • Once camp begins for your child, there are no refunds

What do Kolbo fees cover?

Kolbo (canteen) fees cover a myriad of camper treats and incidentals. Campers will also have an opportunity to buy swag (camp clothing) once during camp. The $50 Kolbo fee will be added to each camper’s tuition except for Kerem, which is $100. Unused funds will be forfeited.

What about travel?

Camp fees do not include the cost of getting your child and luggage to/from camp.  Camp Yavneh provides bus transportation from the New York area to camp and from camp to Boston and New York (not for Kaytana going home). Camp can also provide airport transfers for Manchester, NH, and for Boston (long-distance flyers only). These travel fees will be charged in the spring.

All camper luggage must be at camp before the first day of camp. Yavneh provides luggage service from several areas in the Northeast. Such fees will be set in the winter. In 2021, the luggage fee for delivery to camp was $55 for two pieces of luggage. Alternatively, luggage can be shipped to camp before your child’s arrival.

What other charges might we incur?

Medications, vitamins and supplements must be ordered directly from a specific pharmacy in the spring. The $25 packaging fee (subject to change) is paid directly to the pharmacy.

Full summer Ma’alot campers (current 9th graders) can choose to take the Lifeguarding course. The $150 fee is added to the tuition bill.

Bedding and towels may be rented from camp for $50 for the season. Selection is made in the spring.

Na’aleh Details

Tuition does not include required travel insurance, domestic U.S. travel, cell phone use, spending money or passport fees.
Na’aleh financial assistance
