So... You’re on our waiting list. Here’s what you need to
know.
- Where are we on the list?
- Am I automatically put on the waiting list for either
session regardless of which session I requested.
- When will you let us know if we are in? Do people really
get in?
- What happens to my deposit while we are on the list?
- What are the odds my child will get in?
1. Where are we on the list?
Please feel free to inquire at the Yavneh office as to your child’s
position on the list. You can email to info@campyavneh.org or call 617-559-8860.
As we receive many applications simultaneously, the waiting list is not
an exact science. We therefore cannot always give you exact information
about where you are on the list. We will provide the best information
available at the time of your inquiry as to your relative position.
2. Am I automatically put on the waiting list for either session
regardless of which session I requested.
No! You need to let us know that both sessions are acceptable and we will
put you on both lists.
3. When will you let us know if we are in? Do people really get
in?
As soon as we know there is a space available we will give you a call.
We don’t call if there is no change. Space becomes available from
now until the summer, however, there are three times that cancellations
and changes are more frequent. First, at the end of January when families
receiving scholarship determine that they are still unable to send their
child. Second, in March when another payment is due and then May 1st when
the final payment is due.
4. What happens to my deposit while we are on the list?
Your check stays with your application and is NOT deposited. If a space
becomes available we will contact you. If you accept the space we will
at that time deposit your check. This means that there is NO financial
risk whatsoever to be on our waiting list.
5. What are the odds my child will get in?
It’s hard to predict what will happen that would make people decide
to not send their child. Some of the possible reasons could be Illness,
financial change, change in vacation plans, job transfers, and many others.
That said, there are always between 10 and 25 spaces that become available
once the camp has filled. There is no predicting if these spaces will
be in the age group or session that you are waiting for. There is no risk
to be on the waiting list. However, if you do make alternate plans please
let us know so we can keep the list accurate.
