How do I apply?
Go to the Yavneh CampInTouch login page. After logging in, click on the 2021 season in the drop-down box when prompted.
Please note that all applications will require a non-refundable $800 deposit per camper via either credit card or eCheck. This deposit is not actually charged until the office processes the application and your child is accepted, beginning in early October.
Who can apply now?
All families may apply now. We will process applications from returning campers first, then siblings. Our next priority will be children of alumni, then new family applications. Notifications of acceptance will go out in the order we process applications, beginning in early October. New families can expect to hear by early November.
Please note: once you complete the application, you should immediately receive an automated confirmation email that your application has been received. If you don’t get the email, this means we didn’t get your application. Be sure to complete all parts of the application until the final “Submit.” (Please be sure to check your spam folder.)
Please note that returning children will have top priority registration only for the session they were registered for in 2020.
Can my child request to switch sessions?
If you wish to switch your child’s session, please submit your application as soon as possible. Requests for campers to switch sessions or extend to the full summer will be accommodated only after all applications are processed. In most cases, we will not know until late October/early November if we can accommodate your request. Enrollment capacity last summer was full, and we expect there will be only limited opportunities for switching and/or extending sessions, and may be more likely in the younger aydot.
Can my child request to extend from a single session to both sessions?
If you wish to extend your child’s session to full summer, please submit your application as soon as possible. In your application, please select “Full” for the 2021 season. Your child will initially be accepted to the same session as 2020; notification of acceptance for full summer enrollment will be made by early November.
I rolled over some of my child’s tuition from last summer. Do I still need to apply?
Yes, please follow the same application process. We are not reserving any spaces for any campers. If you know you want your camper to attend camp this summer, you must submit an application as soon as possible.
If my child will be in Kerem, can we apply now?
Kerem applicants will receive a separate letter explaining the process and inviting them to apply. The application will be live for them on Monday, to be completed by a parent. Please note: Kerem is capped based on the size of the bunks and enrollment is strictly first-come, first-served. We will not accept any Kerem applications after Oct. 27, 2020.
If my child will be in Na’aleh, can we apply now?
Our hope is to run Na’aleh 2021 in Israel. We are committed to giving Kerem 2020/Na’aleh 2021 a meaningful culminating experience either in Israel or in the U.S. Please see further details below.
I know someone new who wants to send their child to Yavneh in 2021. When do they apply for camp?
New families may submit an application immediately as well. Their applications will be held in a separate queue and we will inform them in November if we can accept new campers.
What if I know my child will not be returning to camp for the 2021 season?
If you know now that your child is not able to attend camp next summer, please let us know so that we can accommodate as many campers as possible. Please email Bil directly. If you rolled over tuition from 2020 and would like a refund, please submit your request by November 24, 2020.
I’m just not sure yet about next summer. What should I do?
We understand that some families may not feel comfortable submitting an application just yet. As the year progresses, please reach out to us about our capacity and/or the waitlist.
What if I rolled over tuition from 2020?
Thank you for rolling over your tuition! All families submitting an application must enter an eCheck or a credit/debit card number regardless of any tuition rolled over. We will first apply tuition credits from 2020 before charging new funds. Once enrolled, the refund policy (below) will apply uniformly.
Are there any discounts available?
If you pay all of your camp tuition + Kolbo fee before Dec. 31, 2020, you will receive a discount of $215 (one session) or $325 (full season). This discount will be applied to your final payment. This discount does not apply to Na’aleh.
If you pay in full by eCheck (direct withdrawal from your bank account) rather than paying by credit/debit card, you will receive a discount of $50. This discount will be applied to your final payment. These discounts may be combined.
How will we pay for camp?
There are several options available to make your payments. You will choose one when completing the application:
- Pay in Full: the entire camp fee, summarized in the application, will be charged upon enrollment. The discount listed above will reduce your payment if paid by Dec. 31, 2020.
- Early Payment Discount: after the initial deposit, 50% of the balance will be charged on Nov. 15 and again on Dec. 21. The discount listed above will be applied to your second payment.
- Three Installments: after the initial deposit, the balance will be charged in three equal installments on Dec. 1, Feb. 1 and Apr 1.
- Five Installments: after the initial deposit, the balance will be charged in five equal monthly installments from Dec. 1 to Apr 1.
In all cases, you may choose to pay by eCheck or by credit/debit card. Please be sure to enter all data carefully to avoid having a charge declined. If all fees are paid by eCheck, your final payment will be reduced by $50.
How can I protect my tuition?
A Program Protector Plan is now available for purchase from the United States Fire Insurance Company during the registration process. The plan may protect up to the full cost of camp if you withdraw from camp for a covered reason. The cost is $5 + 5% of the camp fee, paid directly to the insurance agent, Trip Mate, Inc. The Plan includes a package of Assistance Services plus insurance benefits including Program Cancellation and Interruption, Travel Delay, Medical Expense, Baggage, Baggage Delay and more.
We strongly recommend that families purchase this policy. Please see this link for more information.
What if we need tuition assistance?
Financial Aid for 2021 will follow the same process as last year: completing an application form online through FACTS with submission of the required tax forms. The FACTS link available now. The due date will be February 8, 2021 with a decision sent within about two weeks. We cannot guarantee tuition assistance to current families after the February deadline.
Families will be expected to pay 10% of the tuition each month, November 1 through February 1 (four payments). Once camperships are announced, the remaining balance will be adjusted and paid in equal installments from March 1 – May 1 (three additional payments). If the campership is insufficient, we will mutually agree to cancel enrollment, and payments other than the $800 deposit will be refunded. We remain committed to enabling as many campers as possible to attend camp, with parents making a meaningful contribution to tuition.
Local Jewish Federations, Jewish Family Services, synagogues and rabbis (through their discretionary funds) are excellent resources for camper scholarships as well. Additional resources may be available for first-time campers. Please be in touch with your home institutions to find out how to qualify. Time is of the essence.
We understand that unforeseen circumstances may necessitate you to withdraw your child from camp. All withdrawal notifications must be made in writing to Tammy Schneider. The following is Yavneh’s refund policy:
- Until Dec. 31, 2020: Full refund minus the non-refundable deposit of $800 per camper
- Jan. 1 to Feb. 28: 75% refund of the remainder of balance, excluding the $800 non-refundable deposit per camper
- Mar. 1 to May 14: 50% refund of the remainder of balance excluding the $800 non-refundable deposit per camper
- From May 15: No refund available
Session Reduction Fee
Families that reduce enrollment from Full to one session will incur a fee as follows:
- Until Dec. 31: no fee
- Jan. 1 to Feb. 28: $300 fee
- Mar. 1 to May 14: $500 fee
- From May 15: $1,000 fee
What do Kolbo fees cover?
Kolbo fees cover a myriad of camper treats and incidentals. Campers will also have an opportunity to buy swag (camp clothing) once during camp. The Kolbo fee will be added to each camper’s tuition. The required amount for 2021 is $50 for all campers except Kerem, which will be $100. Unused funds will not be rolled over to the following year. In the past, we have allowed families to opt-in for different amounts; we will not be able to do that this year.
Thanks to the generous support of our donors, camperships are available to make camp affordable – click here to find out more.
