In a blink of an eye Kayitz 18 is over. When I drove up to Yavneh in June, a week before camp started, I honestly thought that August was a long way off. Over the summer, we had so many Yavneh highlights and ended the summer with an amazing Banquet, hosted by Estelle – it really drove home the reality that the ruach at camp is felt by chanichim to mevugarim and anyone who visits Yavneh during the summer months.

Now we have all unpacked our bags and settled into our normal routine (at least until Family Camp next week). Until September 4th, the year round staff is taking some down time to recharge and focus on our top priorities in the coming months. Our office officially opens on September 4th – so stop and see us (and get a new Yavneh sticker!) Although it is hard to slow down, we need to conserve energy for several exciting projects including strategic planning, Annual Shabbat Dinners in Newton and New York, the yearbook, camper reunions in winter and  open houses over the next few months. Two immediate activities are garnering much excitement in the Yavneh office – Kayitz ’19 registration and the new website! Registration for next summer opens on August 23rd with early bird rates until Oct. 4th. I strongly encourage everyone to register soon because last year we were full by the beginning of January, with a waiting list! And our new website will be up and running by the end of September. We have been working hard on this project and can’t wait to share it with you. We will also resume Eshkolit in September, post all videos from the summer on Vimeo in the coming weeks and stay connected through social media. And we are always a phone call or email away.

Last, I just want to take a minute to acknowledge the year round staff who don’t stop making Yavneh great 12 months of the year. To Shlomit, Melanie, Jeff, Netanel, Efrat, Erin, Michi and Russ and the Maintenance crew – you all help make Yavneh not only an amazing camp but also a great place to work! I greatly appreciate your dedication and collaboration. And to our supportive board of directors who help provide the ongoing vision of Yavneh. Thank you.

Stay tuned to great things ahead.
