Hello to Everyone!
For
New Campers:
If this is your first time at camp, you will probably be very happy with
our variety of food. You will be sitting with your friends
at one of forty large tables in our big, bright Dining Room. We always
have cereals, bagels, yogurt, fresh fruit, juices and cottage cheese for
breakfast, and depending on the day, you can also have scrambled eggs,
pancakes, french toast, home-make biscuits, muffins and more. For lunch
and dinner we serve pizza,
lasagna, grilled cheese, fish filets, ravioli - meat meals include:
hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, turkey, steak, with seconds always available.
If you like homemade cookies, cakes, brownies, and apple pies
- then you'll love our desserts too.
Our Salad Bars have lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, tuna salad,
eggs - over 20 items each day. Everyone is invited to partake in the
Pasta Bar too. If
you're vegetarian , then go to the Veggie Bar! Our soup bar
continues to be a hit.
For
Parents:
The question we most often hear from parents of new campers is, "What
if my child doesn't like the food?" The answer is, "Tell us."
And in addition to the entree of every lunch and
dinner, there are always many alternatives on the salad bars, pasta bar,
veggie bar, and by request.
Nutritionally sound foods are the backbone of each menu. We use low-fat,
high protein ingredients and have options available for special needs
diets. Vegetarians enjoy the daily veggie bar. Camp Yavneh
is strictly Kosher, overseen by our full time Mashgiach.
Our staff must pass
an extensive written examination concerning
Kashrut, food safety, and other areas in order to be in our employ.
